JEE-Main 2021: The eligibility criteria to give JEE Main examination have been given some changes. Under the new eligibility criteria, those students who have scored less than 75 percent in their intermediate examination can now give the entrance test. They can now give the test to get admissions into the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs), School of Planning Technology (SPAs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes.

Earlier for giving the entrance test it was compulsory for the students to get 75 percent in the Class 12th examination. The information was given by Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank through a tweet on Tuesday. According to the Education Minister, this decision is in line with the earlier decision to remove the 75 percent bar for sitting in JEE-Advanced.

JEE Main new eligibility criteria?

Earlier it was made mandatory for any candidate to get 75 percent in class 12th to give the IIT-Main exam but now a simple 12th pass candidate can appear in the examination. Class 12th pass will be the eligibility now to sit in the entrance test. The changes in the eligibility criteria have reduced the stress of the children.

Sometimes due to some situations, it is difficult for the student to get 75 percent in class 12th exams, earlier if this was the situation that student can’t sit in the JEE Main examination but now it is not so.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Education Ministry of India clarified that the syllabus for the JEE Main exam and NEET 2021 won’t be reduced for this year. The syllabus will remain the same as it was in the previous year.

But due to the current pandemic situation as the online classes are going on many class 12th boards have reduced the syllabus seeing this in both the exams IIT JEE and NEET there will be more choices offered in the question paper pattern.

Due to the ongoing health crisis Covid-19 pandemic, The Central Board of Secondary Education has cut down the syllabus of the Class 12th examination by 30 percent.

No Reduction in Syllabus

No reduction in the syllabus of JEE-Main 2021 exam and NEET 2021 will be made as clarified by the Education Ministry of India. Students will be allowed to answer 75 questions out of 90 questions. In the previous year, candidates were given 75 questions which were to be answered. The exact pattern of NEET-UG 2021 is yet to be announced.
