The ministry of social justice and empowerment (MoSJ&E) is steering the ‘Senior Able Citizens for Re-Employment in Dignity (Sacred)’ portal, which will enable “virtual matching” of employable elders of 60 years and beyond with employers who come forth and register on the platform.
R Subrahmanyam, the secretary of state for social justice and empowerment, said the exchange will be an interactive forum where stakeholders will meet digitally and decide on a course of action. The ministry has also written to the CII, Ficci, Assocham, and other organisations to help increase work options for the elderly.
A senior citizen can register once the site is up and running, providing information about their education, experience, talents, and areas of interest. The task and the number of older persons necessary to perform it will be specified by the job suppliers. It has been suggested that non-profit organisations be enlisted to assist senior folks in applying for these positions. The ministry has stated that participation in the exchange does not guarantee employment.

After applying online at SACRED Employment Exchange portal, senior citizens seeking work opportunities will be able to bag jobs.
