NEET 2021 Counselling: Expected Date of NEET Counselling


The MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) will be conducting the NEET 2021 counselling. The counselling process is expected to be released after announcement of the NEET 2021 result. Generally it is released within a month of conducting of NEET exams.

The counselling process will have multiple rounds of seat allocation at the All India level (AIQ) and the state level.

NEET counselling will be conducted by DGHS (Directorate General of Health Sciences) on behalf of the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee). However, the date of NEET counselling has not been announced officially but the expected date for the NEET 2021 counselling would be the last week of October month.

Who will qualify for NEET counselling 2021?

 After the declaration of the NEET result, if a candidate becomes successful in securing the minimum cut-off marks in NEET 2021, candidates will be eligible for the admission process.

For getting admission to the desired college, Candidates will be going through the counseling process. It is only after the counseling process will they get admission to MBBS/BDS.

NEET Counselling 2021: Eligibility to Participate in the NEET Counselling

To become eligible to participate in the NEET counselling process for the year 2021, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria or requirements:

  • Only NEET qualified candidates are eligible to apply for counselling.
  • They must register themselves on the MCC website for NEET counselling.
  • All the candidates, including those from the UTs of J & k, can participate in the counselling for AIQ seats in Deemed Universities.

 

NEET Counselling 2021: Eligibility Criteria for Central University

  1. Delhi university (LHMS, UCMS, MAMC) – 15% seats for AIQ & 85% institutional seats for candidates who have passed their 12th from an institute located in Delhi.
  2. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) – 50% institutional reservation for the AMU school candidates studying there for the last 3 years. Rest of the 50% of seats will be filled through the MCC counselling of NEET.
  3. Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Milia Islamia – The institute offers 47 seats that are open to AIQ students. The remaining seats fall under institutional quota and will be allotted to only those candidates who had passed class 12th from JMI.
  4. BHU- All the students are eligible to apply for BHU seats as there is no specific requirement for the seats.

What would be the Counselling Process after qualifying NEET? 

After qualifying for the NEET exam, candidates who become successful in getting cutoff marks are eligible for the admission process. The admission to government colleges is done based on all India quota (AIQ) and state quota seats.

The AIQ quota consists of 15% seats whereas the state quota consists of 85% seats. The admission to 15% AIQ seats in government MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and BSc courses are done by the MCC (medical counselling committee) whereas the allocation of 85% state seats is done by the State counseling committee on the basis of NEET scores. Admission to private colleges is also done by the state counseling committee.

NEET counselling: The Beginning of Counseling Process of NEET 2021 

 After the conclusion of NEET exams and the announcement of NEET results, the role of NTA comes to an end. From now onwards, all the after processes for NEET 2021 including counseling will be conducted by DGHS authorities.

 Registration for NEET counselling– Eligible candidates must register themselves at mic.nic.in. They must fill in here all the required details such as NEET roll number, registration number, Date of Birth and other personal details.

After filling in the required details the next step would be to pay the registration fees for NEET 2021 counseling.

Choice filling for NTA NEET counselling – After completion of the registration process candidates need to fill in the choices from their registered account on the MCC portal. They need to choose the college in the desired order of preference.

After filling and verifying their choices, they must save a copy for future reference.

Seat allotment list for NTA NEET counseling – based on the AIR obtained by a candidate in NEET 2021 and choices filled in the registration form, a seat allotment list will be prepared. The allocation list would be uploaded on the official website.

In the first round, free exit is available while in the second round seat exit with forfeiture is available.

Reporting to the allotted college – A candidate must report at the designated college to complete the admission formalities after the allotment of seats. However, it is not mandatory to join or report in the first round.

If candidates accept the seat allotted to him then he/she must submit the original copies of the specified documents in the college.

  • NEET score card or rank card
  • Class 10th and 12th certificate and mark sheet
  • A valid ID proof
  • 8 passport size photographs
  • Provisional allotment letter

NTA NEET UG 2021 counselling seat matrix

The seat matrix for the current year would be released after the announcement of NEET 2021 results.

State level NEET UG Counselling 2021

The remaining 85% seats in government medical colleges, 100% seats offered in Deemed Universities and Private medical colleges will be filled by State MBBS counselling conducted by respective state counselling authority. The state counselling authority will release their own NEET merit list, counselling schedule, application form and seat allotment list.
