The Indian Navy has published the official Agniveer Recruitment Notification 2025 concerning the Agnipath Scheme and is inviting online application for SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit), MR (Matric Recruit), and AA (Artificer Apprentice) entry. Recruitment provides a prestigious opportunity for young, unmarried men and women across India to serve the nation by joining the Indian Naval Forces under a 4-year term.
The applications commenced in March 2025 and thousands of students from the sciences and general streams completed the INET exam. The pay is structured, there is full training undertaken at INS Chilka, and it is one of very few defense employment opportunities which could lead to a definitive long-term role in the Navy.
Official Notification & Overview
The Indian Navy’s notification for Agniveer SSR, MR and AA notification was released on 20 March 2025.
The online application facility was opened on 29 March 2025. The submission facility remained open until 16 April 2025, with candidates permitted a correction window from 17–19 April 2025 for minor chief errors.
Admit cards were available to candidates from 13 May 2025, with the details of the exam center released via portal and SMS.

SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit) | Class 12 (with Maths & Physics + one of Biology/Chemistry/Computer Science), ≥50% aggregate |
AA (Artificer Apprentice) | Class 12 with Mathematics & Physics, at least 60% marks; technical trades only |
MR (Matric Recruit | Class 10 pass, ≥50% aggregate; trades include cook, steward, hygienist etc. |
Candidates for the Agniveer 02/2025 batch must have been born between the periods of 1 September 2004 to 29 February 2008 (both days included).
Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible.

Application Procedure
Procedures to apply:
Go to the official portal joinindiannavy.gov.in.
Register with a valid email/mobile, fill out the application form and upload necessary documents and photographs.
Pay the fee (standard Rs.550 + 18%GST for SSR/AA; MR fee could vary or be exempt for reserved categories).
Submit and take a printout for reference.
Selection Process
Stage-I INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test): Computer-based test of 100 MCQs on subjects like English, General Awareness, Science and Maths, 60 minutes duration, 0.25 negative marking per wrong answer.
Stage-II Physical Fitness Test (PFT), letter tests (for MR/AAs as applicable), and medical examination in conformity with Indian Navy standards; minimum height, chest expansion, vision norms etc.
Final merit list and induction to INS Chilka, Odisha for training.
Salary & Service Terms
The qualified aspirants will serve 4 years under the Agnipath Scheme with monthly continuity pay of about ₹30,000–₹40,000, increasing depending on batch progress and allowances.
Upon completion of service, an eligible candidate will receive a Seva Nidhi package; top achievers will be considered for a further extended service in the navy.
