Students are turning more towards online entrance coaching for engineering. This has led to the commencement of online entrance coaching In Kerala too. Most of the JEE online coaching centers in Kerala, and around the country, have been constituted in a hurried manner to meet the growing online coaching requirement. Hence, you must select a reputed coaching center if you are considering online coaching for JEE (Mains) and JEE (Advanced).

The condition is confusing for students and parents too. We are pondering upon the pros and cons of both online and offline coaching methods to give you better insight.

Pros of Online Coaching for JEE Preparation

Online coaching has several advantages over offline or physical coaching at tuition centers. Let’s see the advantages of online courses for JEE.

Flexible Timetable – Unlike online coaching centers, online coaching could be scheduled at a time convenient to the students. Even if the student misses out a specific class, he or she can discuss an alternate time for the class.

Avoid Travel – As the online class can be attended sitting at home, the student need not travel long distances to reach the coaching center. Thus saving both time and energy.

Safe Option During Pandemic Situation – The student doesn’t have to be traveling in public transport. Neither, s/he has to mingle with people, which will increase the chances of the virus spread.

Wide Selection of Teachers – You are limited to a few teachers when attending a physical tuition center. However, the same limitation is not there with online coaching. You can choose from a plethora of teachers sitting, even though they are in another corner of the country.

Save Time – Since the travel part is avoided in online coaching, the student can save time that can be utilized for JEE preparation.

Cons of Online Coaching for JEE Preparation

Although online coaching is beneficial for students in many ways, it has disadvantages too. The students preparing for JEE can consider both before reaching a decision.

Physical Distance – The student and teacher will be at two spaces during the coaching. This physical distance between both can reduce the effect of online coaching.

May Lack of Efficacy – The effectiveness of online teaching will depend on the quality of the teacher. The student has the option to change the teacher if required. However, an incompetent teacher may lack efficacy in conveying the ideas effectively.

Motivation Factor – Along with coaching, the tutors will motivate the students too. The motivation may not have that personal effect, the teacher is in another place. Physical proximity matters remarkably during motivational lecturers.

Pros of Offline Coaching for JEE Preparation

The benefit of offline coaching or physical coaching at tuition centers is appended in the succeeding paragraphs.

Effective Physical Teaching – The teacher and student will be available at the same place during offline coaching. The teacher can recognize how much the student has imbibed and undertaken to coach accordingly.

Interactive Sessions – More personalized and one-to-one interaction may be possible in offline coaching. This is beneficial for students in clarifying their doubts. At the same time, this also possible with many of the online tuition academies also.

Motivation – The teachers can convince the student about the way ahead and motivate them to perform better in a tuition center.

Cons of Offline Coaching for JEE Preparation

The disadvantages of offline coaching are enumerated in the succeeding paragraphs.

Long Travel May be Required – The offline coaching center for JEE may not be close to the student’s house. Hence, he or she may have to travel long distances to reach the institution. The time spent will affect the time available for study at home. In addition to consuming too much energy, tiring the student.

Unsafe in the Present Situation – Social distancing is the mantra of the day. Travel to public places must be avoided as much as possible. Offline coaching is unsafe in the present situation.

Fixed Timetable – The physical tuition center will have a stipulated timetable. It may not be feasible for you to change it according to you.

Another method for coaching is hybrid coaching, wherein the student has to attend a certain number of classes every week. This type of coaching amalgamates the pros of both types of coaching. Thereby, the student gets the best result.

You can contemplate the pros and cons of both the type of coaching and decide which one is best suited for you. Alternatively, you can consult coaching advisors, or counselors to obtain guidance regarding coaching for JEE. Think and decide the option that can give you optimal benefit. Performing outstandingly in the JEE can change your life. And it will be the right step towards a bright future.
