The State Judiciary Examination is one of the most important competitive exam for those who wants to become a judge in the lower courts of their state. Here’s the detailed explanation about the result process, cut-off marks and interview process works.

How State Judiciary Examination Conducted?

This exam is conducted in 3 stages:

  • 1. Preliminary Exam – Objective type questions to shortlist the candidates.
  • 2. Mains Exam – Descriptive exam to check your knowledge.
  • 3. Interview – Face – to – Face personality and knowledge test.
  • You have to clear all the three stages to get selected.

How Results are Announced?

Results are announced after every stage like:

  • > After Prelims: The commission uploads the result PDF on their official website. This pdf contains the roll numbers of the qualified candidates for the mains exam, and also the cut – off list is released.
  • > After Mains: Again the results are announced along with the main cut off list, and the selected candidates who qualified in both the stages are called for the interview.
  • > Final Result: After the interview, candidates mains exam marks and interview are added and then the final merit list is prepared.

What they Mean with Cut – Off Marks?

It is the minimum score that a candidate needs to qualify for the next stage. It depends on:

  • > Number of candidates
  • > Difficulty level of paper
  • > Number of vacancies
  • > Reservation policies
  • Always aim to score more than the expected cut- off.

Interview Process

This is the final stage of selection and also the most crucial round. The panel judges not just your legal knowledge but also your personality, confidence, clarity of speech, and awareness of current issues.

  • > Usually carries 100 -150 marks depending on the state.
  • > Candidates minimum qualify by 50% for general category and 45% for reserved category.
  • > Questions may range from legal provisions to your views on recent legal developments.

This is the final round after that the final selection is to be done with the addition of mains exam and the marks that you get in the interview and then the final merit list is to announced.

Those at the top are selected for training and appointment as Civil Judges.
